Welcome to The Capital Cup, Pretorias FRESHEST Junior League
Introducing The Capital Cup: an action packed junior league that brings together Pretorian Cricket Clubs and Academies to see their junior squads battle it out for the coveted cup.
The first edition will feature 8 clubs with up to 10 teams spanning over a 18 week period.
Each club has boys (6), ladies (3) and veterans (1) teams ranging from Open to u8.The competition is scheduled to start in March 2026 and run until August 2026.
8 Cricket Clubs and Academies come together to battle it out for The Capital Cup. This league marks the chance for each clubs junior cricket teams to shine at The Capital of Cricket Dreams.
2026 clubs:
Each Club comprises of 6 boys teams (u18, u15, u13, u11, u9, u8), 1 ladies teams (Open) as well as Veterans.
Players register their interest to play in the form linked on our website. Players will be selected by the clubs or academies based on the registration information received. To support a more balanced “strength vs strength” competition environment, a draft process will become increasingly prevalent in future editions of the tournament.

The Capital Cup is scheduled to start in March 2026 with the u18 boys tournament and end in August 2026 with the u11 boys tournament.
There will be 18 weekends of non-stop junior cricket action amassing to about 264 games played in the league.
Fixture schedules for the league will be communicated prior to the start of the season and may be subject to change. A minimum of 8 matches will be played by each team in the league.
An independent tournament referee will be appointed to ensure fair play and uphold the integrity of the competition. The league’s decision regarding fixtures, rules, and results is final.
The following are the proposed dates (subject to changes):
All boys and the ladies open and ladies u15 teams may play 12 players with a batting 11 and bowling 11 taking the field of play. A minimum of 8 players are required to start a match. A maximum of 15 players are allowed in a squad.
Ladies u11 may play 9 players with a bowling 8 and batting 8 taking the field of play. 6 players are required to start a match. A maximum of 10 players allowed in a squad.
T20 Competition for all boys and ladies u15 and open

Match length will be determined by playing conditions set by the Working Committee and Tournament Referee
Results and permutations will be determined by playing conditions set by the Working Committee and Tournament Referee
Scorecards will be available for all matches on the Pitch Vision or Cric Clubs app determined by the Working Committee.
